The largest KOA with a 9-Hole golf course, Okeechobee KOA is teeming with fun-filled activities and packed with on-site amenities for the winter season.

This tropical vacation campground features its own palm-fringed nine-hole golf course, driving range and putting green. Play tennis on four courts. Flex your muscles at the fitness center, hike the Big O trail or soak in a pool: one for families, another for kids and a third for adults only.

Boating and fishing on Lake Okeechobee are a lure-and so is the campground’s social calendar filled with parades and parties. Enjoy the seasonal holiday celebrations, from Mardi Gras festivities to a Christmas decorating contest. Swap fish stories over a cold one at the Shanty Lounge, or join a Full Moon Bike Ride.

Big-rig friendly RV sites, cabin lodging and tent campsites are available, as well as golf cart rentals. Whether you’re a snowbird heading south for the winter, vacationing with your family, or looking for that perfect place for a reunion or group event, camp at Okeechobee KOA, where every day is special in paradise.

Why Okeechobee KOA?

  • "Our family has been coming to Okeechobee KOA for 25 years and our kids are third generation KOA campers. Over the years we have made so many friends that we never even consider going anywhere else. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and there is always something to do. We love the social aspect of friends having fun together at the pools, enjoying entertainment at the Shanty Lounge and the kids are always busy with activities. Most of the time the weather is great and being centrally located, Okeechobee KOA is convenient to anything we might want to do."

  • "Bonnie and I have been camping at Okeechobee KOA for years. We have visited many other campgrounds in Florida and other states and Okeechobee KOA is by far the best maintained and is well -staffed with friendly, knowledgeable and helpful people. We are Store N Use customers and love the secure feeling of leaving our coach on site when we are not here. We love the many activities planned by the staff and are very happy coming back here every year and referring this campground to friends."

  • "My wife Sue and I starting camping here when it Crystal Lakes Resort. We enjoyed the people so kept returning. In the early 90’s KOA bought the property and started to make improvements. To this day KOA invests capital every year to maintain and improve the grounds and facilities. When our travelling days were over, Sue and I purchased a permanent park model home so we could still enjoy our friends and the amenities of the campground. Sue is gone now but I have so many fond memories of our times together that when I retired I decided to make Okeechobee my home. Golf is my sport so this is the perfect place for me. The Shanty is a gathering spot reminiscent of “Cheers” where everyone knows your name. I would recommend Okeechobee KOA to anyone. My kids are thinking of retiring soon and may follow in my footsteps."

  • "My wife and I have traveled a lot and been to many campgrounds. When we found Okeechobee KOA it was the attitude of the people that made us want to return. People are friendly, outgoing and fun. We enjoy the social environment. I have friends that have a winter condo the coast with 800 units. They only know a few people in that environment. I’m an avid golfer. What more can I ask than to hop in my golf cart and be playing golf within 5 minutes. It’s great. I have recommended Okeechobee KOA to many people and will continue to do so because if you get bored here, it’s your own fault. There’s so much to do and so little time."
